VICTORY BEGINS KING ERA
Odessa High rebounded from its slow start to defeat the Big Spring Steers, 36-28, Friday night at Memorial Stadium to open the Ron King era. Malcolm Hunt scored three rushing touchdowns for the Bronchos, with Daniel Rivas catching two touchdowns passes. The Bronchos defense made a stand late in the game to preserve the victory after Big Spring blocked a punt inside OHS territory with 1:56 to play.

TURNOVERS COST OHS PLAYOFFS
It's hard to win a game when the ball is on the turf.  Nowhere was that more evident than in the OHS - Midland High game.  The Bronchos could have handily beat Midland High with the absence of five fumbles, as the Bronchos went in at the half behind 10-9 as a result.  In the second half, the Bulldogs put two more scores on the board for the 24-9 Odessa High loss.  The loss eliminated OHS from the playoffs, but the Bronchos still finished with a 7-3 record for the year.

BRONCHOS SAY NO-MO-MOJO
Odessa High remains alive in the 3-5A playoff race after claiming a 14-12 victory over Permian.  Toby Golden scored both touchdowns - one from seven yards in the first quarter and the other from five yards in the third quarter.  For the first time since 1964, the Bronchos hold the PHS-OHS winning streak.

BRONCS BLAST COUGARS, 42-14
The formula of two quarters close and two quarters completely dominate resulted in a successful road trip to Abilene for the Bronchos.  Abilene Cooper was inept in the second half, which OHS took advantage in the 42-14 hammering.
Toby Golden was the leading ball carrier, rushing nine times for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and Kevin Moore carried the ball eight times for 47 yards and two scores.  Mason Munguia added 61 yards on the ground and another 82 yards through the air.

RED CELEBRATES 39-26 HOMECOMING

Toby Golden finished 15 carries for 97 yards.  Mason Munguia, Chandler Goode, and Jamel Guyton added scores, as well.  The Odessa High defense forced four turnovers - three fumble recoveries and one interception.

RATLIFF VIDEO/SCORE BOARDS ON THE WAY

PLAINSMEN EDGE OHS IN SCRIMMAGE
While the offense needs some more work, the defense looked solid against Lubbock Monterey.  The Plainsmen scored a late touchdown to defeat Odessa High, 7-5.  In the scrimmage, Coach Phillips unveiled the “Gun Option” offense, which gives Mason Munguia and Josh Shibler several options on every play.  It allows the quarterback to handoff to running backs Malcolm Hunt, Toby Golden, and Kevin Moore.  The second option is the throw to receivers Byron Monahan, Chandler Goode, and Jamel Guyton.  Against Monterey the offense was hot or cold, but not consistent.  The defense looked pretty salty most of the night.  VIDEO> | PHOTOS>
